Businessman dies after being attacked

JOHOR BARU: A 32-year-old businessman died after being attacked by four men with sharp objects in front of a pub at Johor Jaya here.
Lai Kok Fong who suffered serious injuries to his stomach died at 4pm on Aug 31, about 15 hours after the incident.
One of his sisters, IT manager Wai Ching, 35, said she received a call from Kok Fong's friend informing that her brother was severely injured and had been admitted to a hospital.
"I was shocked to hear the news and informed my elder sister in Kuala Lumpur," she said, adding that she and her mother took the flight down from Penang.
Acting state CID chief Asst Comm Che Yusof Che Ngah said the victim and two of his friends were attacked with sharp objects in the 1am incident on Sunday. He added that the other two victims were also sent to the same hospital and as of 7pm Monday, one of them was still admitted while the other had been discharged.
"All three victims, aged between 28 and 42, were admitted to the Hospital Sultan Ismail for treatment," he said.
He added that one of the friends of the victims contacted the police when the incident occurred but the assailants managed to escape before the police arrived.
Che Yusof said they were still investigating the motive of the attack.
"The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder," he said.
